South by South Wales

Internet is working again, so here is another post in celebration, as promised... swn! Cardiff's wonderful Swn festival is finally over, and whilst it was an amazing weekend, the lack of sleep and food it caused has meant we’re both under the weather and off sick this week (Isaac considerably more so than myself!). A somewhat inevitable consequence of running around Womanby street trying to see as many bands as physically possible and queueing in the rain on more than one occasion, but well worth it. My original aim was to write a bit about a few of our favourites from the weekend, but we'll leave that for another day... Luckily, being ill hasn’t hampered progress with the compilation too much, as the ball is sort of in the other court as it were, with us waiting to get tracks back from bands. We’ve already had one or two back from some super-organised friends, and had some pretty positive feedback from people saying they’re still well up for it which is good news. Hopefully getting some new and exclusive tracks from some bands too which we’re pretty excited about. Still, with recovery on the horizon, it’s time to get back on it, and we’re hopefully going to overcome our respective illnesses and get proactive on promoting the Barely Regal name in the very near future. We’ve got some flyers ordered up (after an evening spent messing around on Photoshop till 1am), which have now arrived and are sat waiting for us to pester you in the streets with them. Best of all, as mentioned yesterday we've managed to score ourselves an interview with the fantastic BBC Introducing Wiltshire on their show TONIGHT! My amazing ability to put my foot in my mouth and say inappropriate things in almost any situation should make this an interesting listen. 7.05-8pm! I've linked it AGAIN, so you basically can't avoid listening (though I'm sure you'll damn well try). I think it'll be on iplayer, so you can't even use the 'oh sorry, I was out/asleep/busy/romantically entangled' excuse... We still owe you a track listing for the compilation don't we? I'll hold off on that for now (don't want to count our mp3s before they've hatched and all that), but hopefully soon we should be able to give you an idea of who'll be gracing our cd with their presence...
