Nu-tosis

It’s taken us a fair old while to write about this, but we wanted to say a big congrats to Kutosis on a fantastic launch night for their brand new EP ‘We are the Animal, You are the City’ a few Fridays back. Overcoming the twin challenges of near-crippling hayfever and world cup games (an ENGLAND game no less) with relative ease, the Kutosis boys put on a fantastic evening, playing to a packed out Clwb Ifor Bach by the time they took to the stage. We were billed first under the guise of Among Brothers, and it was most fun sharing a stage with Samoans and Kutosis…and great to see/play a show where are the bands shared friendships rather than just musical styles. As for the EP itself, we’ve been thoroughly excited about this release ever since we were lucky enough to get a sneak preview in the build up to ‘Zero years’ . ‘Small Cities’ came as a genuine surprise, heavy as fuck to the point where we were both left with stupid grins on our faces after the first listen. The rest of the EP equally delivers, really capturing the energy of their live show, no easy feat considering the energy they put into gigs (as I’m sure everyone who attended the launch will agree). Complete with nice little touches including a poster of contributions from a number of local artists, the release is a bloody lovely little package. If you still haven’t got yourself a copy you can buy the EP (and past releases) from here. Bought it? Good. Here’s the video for ‘Small Cities’ to tide you over till it arrives in the post. 10 points if you can spot Swansea in the background.
