Fanatical Love

With the release of 'Fanatical Love' by Kutosis just under six weeks away, I guess it's about time we gave you a few more juicy details about our plans for the album. Not content with just having written their finest record to date, the Kutosis boys decided that instead of sitting around twiddling their thumbs while we cracked on with the slightly duller aspects of releasing a record, they'd orchestrate the rather impressive feat of getting a video done for every single track on the album, each by a different budding film-maker. It's a pretty great moment when a band you love come to you and say 'we've recorded an album, fancy putting it out?', followed immediately by 'Oh, and we're getting a video sorted for every song, maybe we could release a DVD too?' So that's exactly what we're doing. Aside from the normal CD version of the album, we're putting out a super limited-edition version of the album which will come with a bonus DVD of all the videos, plus maybe a few extra bits and bobs thrown in for good measure. Pre-orders will be up in a week or two's time, and it's looking like the CD/DVD copies are going to shift pretty quickly, so Kutosis' superfans should keep an eye out for that. And if that wasn't enough in it's own right to set 'Fanatical Love' apart from your usual album release, we've decided to do something a bit different for the launch night as well. On Monday the 7th November (the week before the release) we'll be having a screening of all the videos in track order at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff as a part of their 'moviemaker night'...a pretty apt setting to showcase the work of up and coming film-makers who've lent their talents to producing visual interpretations of the album. We'll be having a live launch too of course, on the wonderfully symmetrical date of the 11/11/11 at Clwb Ifor Bach, more on that very soon. If you've been paying attention then you'll have already seen the rather excellent video for the single 'Shadows' (shame on you if you haven't) by Lt Meat, and here is his second contribution to the project (and the second audio-visual snippet of the album to see the light of day),  the video for 'Salton Sea': [vimeo http://vimeo.com/29492679] Who would've thought it'd be possible to cram into 1 minute and 11 seconds a perfect introduction to Kutosis' first full-length release AND a mini-tour of Penarth Pier by night? Two videos down, nine more to go. We might put up a few more videos before the launch if we're feeling generous, so make sure to keep a keen eye on Kutosis' blog and vimeo account for more previews as they surface.
