2 Bands 1 Cup - The Aftermath

So the ‘Strange News From Another Star Vs Samoans’ split launch went pretty bloody well last week. So much so that it’s taken us a good seven days to recover mentally and physically from the occasion, which is always the sign of a good gig. Waking up to pissing rain on the day of the launch nearly gave me a heart attack (inducing vietnam-style flashbacks of the extreme weather conditions we had to battle with on the day of the Among Brothers EP launch), but luckily by mid-afternoon we were treated to some stoke-inducing Spring Sunshine, setting the tone of the evening before we'd even got to Clwb. It turns out getting gear to and from a show is actually an easy feat when A: you have a van, and B: you don't have to traverse several inches of snow to get to the venue. A huge thanks to everyone that came down, and all the bands that played, all of whom were incredible. It sounds cheesy but the gig entirely reminded us of why we started a label in the first place – getting to watch two of our favourite bands in Cardiff play songs from a split we’re releasing, and discovering our new favourite band from Oxford. Sadly due to a few issues with pressing the vinyl didn’t arrive in time, but it was still a great night regardless. A special thanks to everyone who pre-ordered the split either online or at the show itself, those will be shipping this weekend as the final copies arrived this morning (!). More news on that later, but I had a quick glance at them this morning before leaving for work and they look as amazing as we’d hoped, if not more so. I wish I could say we're waiting to post photos to create an air of suspense, but its actually because we're both stuck in our respective day jobs until 5pm...
